Background
Chicago born and raised. Seoul grown. Chicago replanted.
I spent many years thinking art was a waste of time. Fast forward to me craving the exploration of beauty and the expression of this ephemeral thing called life. It's so weird and cool, disgusting and scrumptious, a beautiful mess.
2025 was a seminal year. I was able to see Monet's "Impression, Sunrise" that was closest to a religious experience I had on that trip. On a trip to Seattle, I encountered a couple of artists, Gaylen Hansen and Paul Horiuchi, whose work impressed on me how possible and how important it is for me to learn how to paint. So in late 2025 I started on a new journey.
Work
To bring the scared to the profane. To find beauty in the mundane, the simple moments of life.
